In an email to customers, Nominet stated that hackers accessed their systems through third-party VPN software, highlighting the dangerous implications of exploiting unpatched vulnerabilities.
Despite the breach, Nominet reassured customers that there is currently no evidence of data breach or data leakage, while they mitigate risks from the incident.
Ivanti confirmed that the hackers leveraged a vulnerability in its Connect Secure VPN, with indications from cybersecurity experts that this has led to widespread compromises.
