Indonesia: Flash flooding kills at least 10 on Java island DW 12/09/2024
Briefly

At least 10 people are known to have died in landslides triggered by heavy rainfall on Indonesia's Java island, with ongoing search efforts for the missing.
More than 170 villages were affected by the flooding, resulting in over 3,000 residents being evacuated as torrential downpours led to rivers overflowing.
Yudi Hariyanto mentioned that rescuers recovered ten bodies from affected villages, with three of the deceased being children among the casualties.
The extensive heavy rains, typical between October and March, have historically caused significant flooding and landslides in Indonesia's vulnerable regions.
