LibreOffice goes collaborative and Wasm as ZetaOffice
Briefly

At FOSDEM 2025, LibreOffice was celebrated for its evolution, marked by the pre-announcement of version 25.2, its 40th release. Despite its long history, the office suite is not stagnant; it can still learn new functionalities. A key highlight was Thorsten Behrens's presentation on real-time collaboration for Writer, enabling simultaneous editing by multiple users on local copies of documents using conflict-free replicated data types (CRDTs). Additionally, ZetaOffice, a Wasm runtime version, can run within browsers, extending LibreOffice's capabilities further into web applications without relying on external servers.
Even a 40-year-old can acquire new skills and take on entirely new roles.
The idea is to free you from keeping your apps and data on someone else's computer, without losing the handy collaborative features that web apps bring.
This is a mode where multiple people can work together simultaneously on the same collaborative document.
ZetaOffice is a version of LibreOffice built for the Wasm runtime, which means it can run inside a browser.
