Dave Roberts reveals role for Dalton Rushing with Dodgers
Briefly

The Los Angeles Dodgers have called up their top prospect, Dalton Rushing, while designating Austin Barnes for assignment. Rushing, who excelled at Triple-A and was blocked from promotion due to Will Smith's starting catcher role, is set to fill the backup catcher position. Manager Dave Roberts indicated Rushing will catch twice a week and take pinch-hitting opportunities. Rushing expressed excitement about learning from seasoned teammates and contributing positively to the team's success, despite limited playing time. This move also allows Smith more rest, crucial for maintaining performance throughout the season.
"I see him probably catching two times a week, taking pinch-hit at-bats... But certainly getting starts," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts stated regarding Dalton Rushing's role.
"It'll be different, but like I said, I'm the rookie... if I can still help the team win those other three or four days, that's pretty special," Rushing remarked on his new role.
