The Los Angeles Dodgers superstar recently purchased a $7.8 million mansion in Los Angeles and two Japanese outlets, Fuji TV and Nippon TV, covered the purchase in too much detail.
Ohtani and the Dodgers agreed that this was an invasion of his privacy and put the superstar at risk, citing previous incidents of celebrity home invasions and kidnappings.
Because it jeopardized his safety, the Dodgers revoked the media credentials for both outlets, with Fuji TV and Nippon TV remaining unresponsive to questions about their coverage.
"Regarding the questions we received today, we are very sorry, but we are not answering any questions regarding the interview," noted Nippon TV's Public Relations Department.
