Dodgers set pitching schedule for Shohei Ohtani's progression
Briefly

Shohei Ohtani's anticipated return to pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers remains uncertain, with manager Dave Roberts suggesting that early May is no longer a feasible target. Ohtani has been participating in bullpen sessions but has experienced a pause in his pitching progression. Going forward, he is set to follow a structured seven-day schedule, which is reflective of what he’ll encounter when he pitches in MLB games. With his first Major League pitching appearance since the 2023 season and the new windup delivery, Ohtani continues to progress strategically toward his return.
"The idea is to mirror as closely as possible the schedule Ohtani will have when he returns as a starting pitcher, and build from there," Roberts said.
"Ohtani's pitching schedule of mound work on Thursday and Saturday keeps in line with what he just completed this past week, as he aims to return before May."
