The 22-year-old spent time with four Dodgers Minor League affiliates this season, going a combined 1-2 with a 2.72 ERA and 1.23 WHIP while collecting 88 strikeouts in 53 innings over 43 games.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts highlighted Henriquez's potential, stating that being an unknown in the league could provide him a significant advantage, as other teams lack familiarity.
'I mean, it's a variance play. Get him in here, get him in the big leagues, and see how he looks... it's going to be exciting to watch him make his debut,' Roberts said.
Roberts acknowledged the potential challenge others might face when facing Henriquez, noting, 'to not know Edgardo is definitely a benefit to him'.
