Ron Oppenheimer, a 27-year-old North Berkeley native, pursues his dream as an acrobat and dancer in Katy Perry's 2025 world tour. He performs in her Lifetimes Tour and has recently returned to the Bay Area. His diverse training in creative movement began at a young age, influenced by his family and local creative energy. Oppenheimer is one of ten dancers and two aerialists in the show, taking center stage in a prominent aerial solo, recalling his childhood aspirations of performing.
"I'm currently living one of my teenage dreams," he said, remembering how, as a 14-year-old, he would listen to the pop star's dance club ballad The One That Got Away and be really sad about I don't even know what."
Oppenheimer is one of 10 dancers and two aerialists backing up Perry in the show and takes center stage during a nearly 90-second aerial solo, one of the show's longest continuous sequences.
He says his upbringing, surrounded by his tight-knit family and the city's creative energy, helped make a nontraditional path, like joining the circus, feel like a viable option.
He got his start in creative movement while in preschool at Montessori Family School, where a teacher named Jim Beatty introduced him and his siblings to circus arts, theater and improv movement.
