Koreatown-based developer Bando Dela's proposal for The Bora, a 153-unit apartment complex, faced and overcame a union-backed appeal challenging its approval by the Los Angeles City Planning Commission.
The appeal, filed by Supporters Alliance for Environmental Responsibility, affiliated with a laborers union, raised concerns over air quality and traffic, but lacked evidence, ultimately denied by a staff report.
Utilizing Transit Oriented Communities incentives, Bando Dela included 16 affordable apartments in the complex for low-income households, allowing a larger structure than zoning rules permit.
The Bora project features a mix of unit sizes, ground-floor retail space, underground parking, balconies, a rooftop terrace, and recreational amenities, adding to Bando Dela's portfolio in Koreatown.
