He is currently being held at the Clinton County Adult Detention Center on a two-million-dollar bond."

Silas H. Shelton, a 48-year-old pastor in Wilmington, Ohio, was arrested on charges of rape, sexual battery, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and gross sexual imposition and is held on a two-million-dollar bond. The alleged victim was a girl from Shelton's congregation who was 14 or 15 in 2019 when the abuse reportedly began. A detective's probable cause statement described the victim feeling groomed, trapped, and manipulated due to Shelton's religious authority, and alleged abuse continued until a few months ago. Shelton has pleaded not guilty. Police have requested anyone with information to contact Detective Codey Juillerat.
