Briefly

Cleary Gottlieb is set to close its Beijing office in July 2025, merging its operations into Hong Kong. This marks Cleary's departure as the third U.S. law firm to shutter offices in China within 2025, demonstrating a significant trend among major law firms exiting the region. The decision is justified by the firm as a move to enhance their operational efficiency while still maintaining their commitment to clients in the Greater China area.
