The U.S. Department of Labor has announced plans to end the exploitative practice of paying disabled workers subminimum wages, a long-fought advance by disability justice activists.

The implementation of Section 14(c) was supposed to create employment opportunities for disabled workers, yet it perpetuated poverty and limited access to meaningful jobs across communities.
