In the footage released by the Martin County Sheriff's Office, Ryan Wesley Routh is seen surrendering to police after an alleged assassination attempt on Donald Trump, who was golfing nearby.
Gunshots were heard from where Routh exchanged fire with the Secret Service, prompting police to investigate the area where he left behind an AK-47 and two backpacks.
Although Routh had previously voted for Trump, his social media activity showed fluctuating political support, including backing for other candidates such as Tulsi Gabbard and Vivek Ramaswamy.
