Beard has had two stints with the club since 2012, leading them to two Women's Super League titles in 2013 and 2014 and helping the team secure promotion back to the top flight before the 2022-23 season. However, following a disappointing current season, the club's management, including Fenway Sports Group, opted for a change, emphasizing the need to build on past successes. Amber Whiteley will serve as interim manager as the search for a permanent replacement begins.
