Liverpool FC has parted ways with manager Matt Beard following a disappointing performance in the Women's Super League, losing six out of their last eight matches. Beard, who previously led the team to two WSL titles, returned in 2021, bringing the team back to the top flight and securing a solid mid-table finish. Despite this success, the current season has been challenging, with a significant loss to Manchester City leading to his dismissal. The club has thanked Beard for his contributions and will appoint Amber Whiteley as interim manager during the search for a permanent successor.
We have all experienced some fantastic moments with Matt as manager of LFC Women and we express our gratitude for his significant contribution.
Our priority was to return this team to where it belongs and we collectively achieved that in 2022 by winning promotion to the WSL.
