Wolves Women have announced their intention to apply annually for a Tier 2 licence, following disappointment over missing out on promotion to the Championship due to the club's decision not to apply. Club chairman Jeff Shi highlighted the need for stronger support and communication within the women's setup, and outlined plans to establish an independent board and appoint a full-time commercial lead to diversify revenue streams. This commitment aims to ensure that on-pitch success is matched by appropriate structural backing.
"Moving forward, we will apply for the Tier 2 licence on an annual basis in line with our sporting achievements, ... we believe Wolves Women can continue to progress."
"The women's set-up requires strengthening, and I am committed to implementing improved structure, support, communication and leadership."
