Double murder accused to face trial in spring over human remains found in suitcases
Briefly

Yostin Andres Mosquera is charged with killing Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71, a former couple whose remains were discovered in two suitcases at Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol. He is accused of murdering them in London before their bodies were found in the suitcases.
Mosquera, a Colombian national, had been staying with the victims in London and was known to them. After his arrest in Bristol, further remains were found at the couple's flat in west London. He appeared in court via video link, confirming his identity with a Spanish interpreter.
The accused, speaking only to confirm his name and date of birth, was remanded in custody with a provisional trial date set for April next year. The prosecutor informed the court that Mosquera faces two counts of murder and the court aimed for an earlier trial date.
Investigators made the grim discovery at Clifton Suspension Bridge, leading to the accused's arrest at Temple Meads railway station in Bristol. The judge set a potential trial date for up to three weeks, with efforts to expedite the process.
