Exclusive: A massive new 7,000-capacity warehouse and riverside venue is opening in east London
Ironworks is a new London music venue planned for a former shipbuilding site in the Royal Docks on the north bank of the Thames near Greenwich Peninsula. The venue will include a 78,000 square foot warehouse and an 80,000 square feet riverside area with panoramic views. It is designed to be as much about its location as its cultural programme. The capacity is set at 7,000 people, with a terrace overlooking the river. Lineups are not yet confirmed, but the venue will feature cutting-edge sound, lighting, and visual production, with artists to be announced in June. It will open in October 2026 with a limited run of weekend shows.
"Ironworks is set to be as much about its location as its cultural programme. While the place will have a 78,000 square foot warehouse, it'll also have a massive 80,000 square feet of riverside area - all overlooking the river. As for lineups? Well, that's still TBC. A press release promises 'cutting-edge sound, lighting and visual production', as well as sets from 'some of electronic music's most in-demand artists', with names set to be announced in June."
"The venue is called Ironworks and it sits on the site of the former home of the Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company. It's in part of the Royal Docks, a historic old industrial space, and sits just past the Greenwich Peninsula on the north bank of the Thames. Taking over a legendary east London industrial warehouse, it'll have space for a whopping 7,000 punters and boast a panoramic terrace right next to the River Thames."
"Ironworks is being put together by LWE and PROJEKT, who between them have contributed to popular London venues like The Cause, Printworks, Junction 2 and Tobacco Dock. Ironworks will open in October 2026 with a limited run of weekend shows. Here are some preview snaps of the place: Ironworks, Scarab Close, E16 1AF."
