Brent Council leader Muhammed Butt emphasized the Bakerloo line's extension would provide undeniable economic and social benefits, including 20,400 homes and 9,700 jobs.
In his letter, Butt stated, "The current trains are 52 years old and among the UK's oldest in service, demonstrating immediate need for upgrades to enhance energy efficiency."
Butt recognized that the Bakerloo line serves as a critical component of economic infrastructure, with jobs in London clustered heavily around its stations.
He urged the Government to commit funding stating this project aligns with the UK's net zero goals, improving transportation efficiency and urban development.
