Sadler's Wells East, opening in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, promises to transform London's dance scene with its 550-seat auditorium, six dance studios, and a free performance space. Its inaugural season will feature 20 productions from local and international artists. The venue, part of the East Bank educational district, will also support dance education through two institutions: the Academy Breakin' Convention for hip hop and the Rose Choreographic School for experimental dance. Mayor Sadiq Khan hailed it as a major milestone for nurturing talent and accessibility in the arts.
This brand-new venue will be a gamechanger for dance in the capital. It showcases and nurtures talent not only from London but across the country.
Sadler's Wells East will be home to two educational facilities: Academy Breakin' Convention, a hip hop theatre school, and the Rose Choreographic School.
