The sinkhole formed following a burst water main around 12:50 AM, causing water supply interruptions for residents. SES Water confirmed ongoing repairs and urged locals to avoid the area while offering bottled water delivery to those affected. Efforts to restore normalcy involve collaboration with emergency services and utility partners, highlighting the urgency of the repair work.
Customers within RH1 and RH9 are currently experiencing water supply issues, due to a burst main on Godstone High Street. We are working at pace with key partners to ensure we can safely repair the main as soon as possible.
A cordon is in place in Godstone High Street in Surrey, near to the M25 and the Croydon border, after the hole appeared today. A small number of buildings have been evacuated.
