I'm an American who moved to Tokyo 6 years ago. The work culture is still challenging, but the benefits outweigh any drawbacks.
Briefly

Moving to Tokyo has provided me with a fresh start, filled with incredible opportunities and a vibrant culture. Though the work culture is intense, the city's dynamic food scene and unique ambiance make it an enriching experience. After living in various places, including Taipei, I finally found my home in Tokyo, a blend of chaos and serenity, with delightful culinary offerings, especially ramen, which I consider an art form in this city. Tokyo has outshined previous experiences, becoming a place where I truly feel I belong.
Tokyo offers a unique contrast between intense crowds and serene tranquility, allowing for sensory overload while also providing spaces for calm reflection, making it a unique living experience.
Living in Tokyo as an American has opened up incredible culinary experiences, from the art of ramen to a thriving food scene that constantly delights and surprises.
