Plans for Lewisham's first dedicated Travellers' site in 15 years aim to provide seven pitches, after a long wait since the closure of the previous site in 2009.
Since the closure of the Thurston Road site in 2009, the borough has struggled to accommodate the Gypsy and Traveller community, highlighting the ongoing need for suitable housing.
The proposal includes a consultation outcome indicating that 74% of Travellers expressed excitement about the new homes at the Pool Court site, showcasing community support.
The development consists of an overgrown site currently owned by the council and another parcel leased to a scaffolding company, planning to create three to four pitches.
