In February 2021, armed police arrested a group of drug dealers in Tottenham after discovering 210 million pounds worth of cocaine in banana boxes, marking the UK's largest drug haul.
The cocaine was hidden among 41 pallets of bananas shipped from Colombia, and police utilized covert operations to trace the drugs and execute the raid.
Petko Zhutev, who directed the drug operation, was sentenced to 27 years in prison for his leading role in the smuggling scheme, which leveraged a legitimate business as cover.
The investigation revealed that Zhutev had taken control of Agro Food Ltd solely to disguise his drug trafficking activities, showcasing the lengths to which criminals will go.
