A person has died after being hit by a train near Northumberland Park station. A casualty on the tracks was reported just after 12.25pm.
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended, however, the person was pronounced dead shortly after. The incident is not thought to be suspicious.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed that officers were called to report of a casualty on the tracks and regrettably a person was pronounced deceased.
The authorities stated that a file will be prepared for the coroner, indicating a formal procedure following the tragic incident.
