South London station to shut formonths to replace wooden platforms
Briefly

Berrylands station, served by South Western Railway, will shut from May 11 to August 23, 2026, for safety improvements. The station, which opened in 1933 and features wooden platforms, is part of Network Rail's five-year improvement program. Upgrades include platform replacements and widenings, new lighting, CCTV, and information screens. Disruptions will affect Lower Marsh Lane footways, parking on Chiltern Drive, and involve temporary road closures. Passengers must seek alternatives, such as nearby Surbiton or New Malden stations.
