A decision on the 1 billion scheme was expected from the City of London Corporation by the end of this year though this has been pushed back into 2026 after further details were added to the application. A spokesperson for Network Rail said they remain committed to our proposals and the additional detail submitted will be available to view on the Planning Register.

The swan was trapped on Monday on the tracks over Chelsea Bridge with an injured wing. Mildmay line services were part suspended from 1.10pm to 2.30pm between Clapham Junction, one of London's busiest commuter stations, and Shepherd's Bush while Network Rail's mobile operations manager was tasked with catching the rogue swan. Following a successful rescue operation, the swan was coaxed off the tracks into a swan-rescue bag.

Network Rail is warning that the Brighton mainline railway via Gatwick Airport will be closed on Sunday 13th July for urgent repair works.

Network Rail stated that the high temperatures would make track temperatures reach about 50C (122F), leading to speed restrictions and revised timetables for train services.

Due to damage to the overhead electric wires between Lockerbie and Carstairs, all lines are blocked. Train services running through these stations may be cancelled or delayed. Please check your journey.

Helen Hamlin emphasized that 'the vast majority of the rail network will be open as usual,' but advised passengers to check for specific service changes ahead of travel.
