Station upgrade works to build lift and footbridge will last more than a year
Briefly

Transport for London (TfL) has commenced construction work at Northolt station to create a new footbridge and lift, making the station fully accessible from the street to the platforms. This initiative, expected to conclude by summer 2026, aims to facilitate easier access for passengers, including those with mobility challenges. Despite ongoing construction, the station will remain operational, although modifications to the platform’s width are necessary during the project. Additionally, customer toilets will be temporarily unavailable as they are being upgraded. Similar upgrades are also planned for Leyton station.
Passengers have been warned that during the work, the width of the island platform will be reduced by temporary fencing.
Transport for London (TfL) confirmed today that work is under way at the station, which will remain open throughout construction.
I was delighted to gain the commitment previously. Now with covid out of the way, it's full steam ahead to open up the station for accessibility.
