TfL Confirms Central Line Disruptions Will Last Until December
Briefly

The Central line is undergoing a £500 million makeover, but delays in introducing refurbished trains mean improvements won't be seen until late this year. Despite promises, only one refurbished train has returned to service so far.
Since November 2023, Central line users have faced severe delays due to a shortage of trains, leading to a new 'emergency timetable' with 30% fewer trains during rush hour.
TfL commissioner Andy Lord has acknowledged the frustrations of passengers due to nearly a year of delays caused by maintenance issues, including burned-out motors and renovation of five trains simultaneously.
Passengers can expect a new timetable to improve train frequencies by December 2023, but they will have to endure long wait times of up to 20 minutes in the meantime.
