Between February 14 and 15, Newsquest London reported multiple traffic accidents in Rainham, Upminster, Romford, and Kent. Notably, a severe crash on the A13 in Rainham resulted in the deaths of two men—one a passenger in a vehicle and another the driver of an opposing car. Two air ambulances were deployed to the scene, as road closures were necessary while authorities managed the aftermath. In Kent, a separate incident involved a pedestrian fatality after being struck by a van on the M20. Authorities seek witnesses to these events.
A man in his early 40s who was the passenger in one vehicle, and a man in his mid-40s who was the driver of another vehicle were treated at the scene but sadly died from their injuries.
Another man in his mid-40s and the driver of a vehicle involved in the collision was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition remains life changing but not life threatening.
Detectives would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or captured it on dash cam. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 referencing CAD 7011/2FEB2025.
