Hornchurch man presented with MBE by King after founding social enterprise
Briefly

Nilesh Dosa, founder of the social enterprise icanyoucantoo, was awarded an MBE on February 4 for his contributions to social equality, making him one of only four to receive this honor. His organization, established in 2016, aims to uplift disadvantaged youth in East London by providing them with role models and skills to reach aspirational jobs. The inspiration behind this initiative stemmed from Nilesh's encounter with a young black boy who felt limited by societal perceptions. The King's involvement in recognizing these efforts highlights crucial support for disadvantaged communities.
I met a young black boy in Newham at my old secondary school and I did an assembly called 'If I can do it, you can do it too'.
The idea of icanyoucantoo was conceived around ten years ago; a vision sparked by the success of a young boy I helped.
The social enterprise teaches people from disadvantaged backgrounds skills to secure aspirational jobs, raising aspirations through role models.
It was fantastic to bring my family along to receive the medal from the King, who acknowledges the importance of supporting disadvantaged young people.
