Recalls ordered for dozens of Irish cheese products over infection fears

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a warning against consuming certain cheese products due to potential contamination with listeria bacteria. This includes Horgans Irish Smoked Cheddar, with a use-by date of May 25, 2025, and a total of 30 Old Irish Creamery blended cheeses sold at Tesco and Spar. Consumers, especially vulnerable populations like pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems, are advised to be cautious and avoid these products. Recall orders have also been issued by the UK’s Food Standards Agency, highlighting a cross-border response to ensure public safety.
