This decision has been attributed to escalating operational costs and a reduction in customer numbers, rendering the store unprofitable. The company emphasizes their commitment to retaining staff where possible from affected branches. Notably, this closure marks the second in the Whitgift Centre this year, following The Entertainer’s recent shutdown linked to the proposed redevelopment of the shopping center under the Croydon regeneration project.
Beaverbrooks, which first opened in 1919, is closing several of its stores all over the country due to rising costs and fewer customers.
