Kanye West concert in Italy cancelled over public order and safety issues'

Kanye West, now known as Ye, was scheduled to perform at the Pulse of Gaia festival at RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia on 18 July, but the city prefect Salvatore Angieri prohibited the event. The ban followed concerns raised by the local Jewish community about West’s prior antisemitic remarks. Travis Scott’s Hellwatt festival concert on 17 July was also cancelled because the two festivals were set for consecutive days. The government statement cited public order and safety assessments, the venue’s capacity of about 103,000 spectators, and the risk of counter-demonstrations within 24 hours. The decision also considered West’s prior cancellations in other countries and earlier postponements tied to visa issues in France and the UK.
