Essential tram maintenance is scheduled for two weeks in Croydon, starting April 5 and ending April 19. During this period, trams will be out of service between Sandilands and New Addington, impacting several stops. A replacement bus service will operate, excluding Lloyd Park. Additional maintenance work will focus on resurfacing, track upkeep, and platform refurbishments. Transport for London (TfL) aims to minimize future disruptions through these essential works, with a focus on maintaining a safe, reliable tram network.
These works will last over two weeks and are expected to cause travel disruption to many in the south of Croydon.
TfL aims to complete all of this essential work during the closure to minimise future disruptions for customers.
Navid Golshan, TfL's General Manager for London Trams, said: This planned maintenance is vital to ensure we can continue to offer customers a safe and reliable service across the London Trams network.
As part of this closure we have also taken the opportunity to undertake some additional essential works with an aim to minimise the need for future closures.
