The Bromley Council has approved the establishment of a community garden in Knoll, Orpington, managed by the Knoll Residents Association. Located between Hillview Crescent and the Orpington Railway Station, the garden aims to enhance local greenery and improve the area. Councillor Simon Fawthrop expressed optimism about the project, stating it represents successful collaboration with local residents. If the garden succeeds, it may serve as a model for similar initiatives in other communities, promoting environmental improvements and community engagement through the reuse of overlooked spaces.
This is excellent news, of Bromley Council working with local residents to improve the local environment.
Residents alerted me to the possibility of doing something with the land several months ago, since then we have been working hard to make this happen with the council.
If successful, this project could inspire other communities to adopt disused or underused land for similar purposes.
