Residents of Moore Walk and Brooking Road are increasingly frustrated with crime and disorder linked to a car park near their flats. Newham Council's decision to expand parking permits in Forest Gate North has inadvertently allowed non-residents to park in the area, attracting illegal activities such as drug dealing and fly-tipping. Despite residents' calls for better security measures, like a camera or access gate, past efforts by the council have been inadequate. A newly installed gate is already broken, symbolizing ongoing neglect of the estate's safety concerns.
When you have a lot of traffic coming and going, there are other issues that come with it - drug dealers operating from here and fly-tipping.
It's obvious that if you have an open car park, people will use it and abuse it, but the council hasn't done anything about it.
