Residents of Mathews Park Avenue expressed outrage over the delayed collection of their rubbish bins, which hadn't been emptied since February 4. Local resident Oli Goss highlighted that despite paying the same council tax as other Newham residents, their area was seemingly ignored by the council. Numerous pleas for assistance yielded no results, and residents felt the situation was both inconvenient and indicative of a lack of care from the authorities. Concerns were raised about public health, particularly for children at the nearby school, who had to navigate around overflowing waste bins.
It's outrageous, we all pay our council tax the same as everyone else in Newham, but for some inexplicable reason the residents of Mathews Park Avenue are being ignored by Newham Council.
When they failed to empty the bins the first time, we notified the council, who sent the rubbish collectors to empty our rubbish - but then ignored the rest of the bins on the street.
