Council's social care rated outstanding: 'no waiting lists for essential services'
Briefly

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) awarded Camden Council an outstanding rating for its adult social care service under the Care Act 2014. The council excelled in five assessment areas, particularly in equity and community engagement. CQC noted the lack of waiting lists in essential services such as safeguarding and hospital discharge. Despite this success, the council's performance in family carer satisfaction was low, prompting a need for improvement. CQC's Chief Inspector commended Camden's dedication to equitable service access and encouraged other councils to learn from Camden's accomplishments.
"We were very impressed to see the exceptional levels of service being provided by the London Borough of Camden. Their clear commitment to equity, making sure everyone was able to access services in a way that suited their needs, and reduce inequalities was at the heart of everything they were doing."
"Overall, Camden should be extremely proud of this assessment and the outstanding care they're providing to people. Other local authorities should look at this report to see if there's anything they can learn."
