Danny Dyer says death of beloved mentor sent him into spiral of madness'
Briefly

Actor Danny Dyer discussed his struggles with mental health following the death of his mentor, playwright Harold Pinter, on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs. Pinter, a Nobel Prize-winning playwright, had cast Dyer in his 2000 play Celebration, where Dyer struggled with anxiety during performances. After Pinter's death in 2008, Dyer described a decline into 'madness', fueled by feelings of guilt and losing a guiding figure in his life. He is now developing a play to honor Pinter's influence on him.
Dyer felt so bad about letting him (Pinter) down but said the playwright put his arm around him and made him feel better about it.
