Hampstead Heath Ladies' Pond faces backlash after failing to ban trans women despite Supreme Court ruling
Briefly

Kenwood Ladies' Pond, dedicated to women and girls for a century, has sparked controversy regarding trans rights after the City of London Corporation adopted a self-ID policy in 2019. Gender-critical feminists argue for the preservation of women-only spaces, fearing legal implications from continuing to label the pond as 'ladies'. The Corporation's recent decision to uphold this policy amidst ongoing debates has drawn criticism from activists who advocate for women's safety and privacy in these spaces, emphasizing the unique experience and joy the pond offers to women.
Any continued description of two of the ponds as 'men's' and 'ladies' will expose the Corporation to discrimination claims... women’s overall need for safety and privacy is generally higher than that of men.
It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that the Corporation is trying to fudge this... women need women's spaces for our safety, privacy and dignity.
The ponds are stunningly beautiful and special to any woman who goes... this is what women-only spaces can be like.
The City of London and those managing women's swimming facilities need to admit this is invasive, discriminatory and unlawful.
