The chief executive of Medical Aid for Palestinians, Melanie Ward, has been chosen as a Labour candidate in Scotland's Cowdenbeath and Kirkcaldy seat after the previous candidate was suspended due to controversial tweets.
Ward's appointment aims to address tensions within Labour, particularly regarding Keir Starmer's stance on the Gaza crisis, which has caused issues with Muslim voters and councillors, as well as disagreements with the Scottish Labour leader, Anas Sarwar.
