An elderly man sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car on Earl Street. Emergency services attended the scene, and he was airlifted to Beaumont Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he later passed away. Gardaí are conducting an investigation and are seeking witnesses or motorists with dash-cam footage from the area at the time of the incident. A post-mortem examination is expected to occur within 24 hours.
