The mother of Hani Hicham Abou El Kheir, a 16-year-old stabbed to death in London in 2013, voiced her heartbreak and frustration as one murderer remains at large. Pauline Hickey lamented the ongoing pain of losing her only son and criticized those who protect the fugitive. Hani's murderers were convicted in 2014, but 33-year-old Dilawar Hussain, believed to be in Bangladesh, is still free. Ms. Hickey urged the community to assist in bringing Hussain to justice, stating, "People shouldn't get away with such a barbaric act" and reflecting on her son's lost potential and spirit.
Hani was only a boy when he was killed; he had his whole life to live and this was brutally taken away.
The pain of his loss does not diminish with the passing of time.
People shouldn't get away with such a barbaric act.
Don't. Why would you want to protect monsters?
