Protests against trans Supreme Court ruling to be held across UK this weekend
Briefly

The UK Supreme Court's recent ruling, which defines a woman as excluding trans women, has incited significant protests nationwide. This landmark decision, stemming from a case by For Women Scotland, affects the trans and non-binary community, particularly concerning equality regulations and public policy. Police protocols have also changed, leading to increased concerns among activists. In response to the ruling, nearly 30 protests are set to take place over a long weekend, emphasizing solidarity and support for trans rights across numerous cities from London to Glasgow.
British Transport Police have already announced that, from now on, trans women that the BTP hold in custody will be strip searched by male, rather than female, officers.
Almost 30 separate protests have been announced across the country over the Easter weekend (18 to 21 April), taking place in multiple towns and cities across the UK.
In London, a protest posted by What The Trans?! will be held on Saturday (19 April) at 1pm in Parliament Square.
