Thousands of homes set to benefit from new heating network
Briefly

The Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) has partnered with Hemiko to establish a pioneering low-carbon heat network that utilizes waste heat from local data centres. This innovative network aims to provide energy to over 9,000 new homes and existing facilities, like Central Middlesex Hospital, marking the first use of this technology in the UK. The project, funded significantly by the government and Mayor's initiatives, will roll out in five phases and is expected to reach full development by 2040, ultimately serving up to 25,000 homes.
"OPDC's innovative new heat network is leading the way in developing greener and cheaper energy for thousands of residents in west London."
"The heat network will enable the creation of low carbon, low pollution neighbourhoods in London. There is enough surplus and wasted heat in London to heat the whole city."
