Jackson's Cafe, opening its doors in 1994, recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, serving as a social enterprise that trains adults with learning disabilities. Manager Tracey Brennan highlighted the cafe's unique approach, integrating culinary training into an environment where trainees learn teamwork, cooking, and other essential life skills. Over a two-year training program, participants can earn a national vocational qualification (NVQ) and receive employment assistance. The cafe not only serves quality traditional food but also fosters personal growth and community integration, making it a respected establishment in High Street.
Jackson's Cafe is unique not just in its service but in its mission to train adults with learning disabilities to become independent and skilled in catering.
Our training program empowers participants with essential skills like teamwork, cooking, and money management, ultimately aiming to help them find meaningful employment.
