Are you a renter who lost income because of the fires? These are your protections.
Briefly

Following devastating fires in January, concerns arose regarding housing affordability and job loss in the Pacific Palisades and Altadena areas. Thousands of homes and businesses were impacted, affecting many residents' ability to pay rent. Although the Los Angeles City Council opted not to implement city-specific eviction protections, the County Board of Supervisors stepped in, providing measures that protect tenants financially harmed by the fires. Renters earning 150% or less of the area median income cannot be evicted for non-payment of rent if they meet certain criteria, ensuring support amidst ongoing challenges.
Los Angeles renters aren't without a lifeline. The County Board of Supervisors passed its own measure that gives some tenants eviction protections.
