The Oscar statuettes, crafted at Urban Art Projects in Orange County, New York, symbolize excellence in film since 1929. The creation process is intricate, starting from molds and wax copies to multiple ceramic shell layers. Each bronze statue is carefully finished and plated in gold, showcasing immense pride from the artisans involved. The dedication to craftsmanship ensures that each statue is a labor of love, reflecting the hard work behind both the award and the legends who receive it. March 2 marks the celebration during the 2025 Oscars, keeping the tradition alive.
"As you dig into the process, you'll see that it's something that you can't rush," Jake from Urban Art Projects said.
"Most everybody here has a part to play," Jake said.
"We pour our hearts into this piece. For me to see it at the ceremony, there's no words," a UAP employee said.
"The work here is hard, but everybody does it with a smile on their face," Jake said.
