Dave Roberts, Will Smith & Miguel Rojas React To Dodgers' Offensive Struggles
Briefly

The Los Angeles Dodgers lead MLB in total runs and rank near the top in OPS and wRC+ for the season, but their offense has slumped since early July. Since July, the team ranks in the bottom third of MLB in runs, OPS, batting average, and wRC+. Scoring rallies have been fleeting, and the Dodgers have not scored six or more runs in consecutive games since June. The offense produced just one run in back-to-back games in San Diego, with limited early hits. Injuries and prolonged slumps from key players have compounded the problem and threaten postseason prospects.
Getting consistent offense has been an issue for the Los Angeles Dodgers for much of this season, and it's a problem that has severely cost them in the National League West division race. When looking at their season numbers overall, the numbers paint a positive picture. They lead MLB with 668 runs, their team on-base plus slugging of .767 and wRC+ of 113 both rank second in MLB, and they're sixth with a .253 batting average.
But since the start of July nearly two months ago, the Dodgers rank just 24th in runs scored with 191, 21st in team OPS at .707, 26th with a .233 batting average, and a 98 wRC+ that ranks 20th in MLB. Every time the offense shows signs of breaking out, they regress back just after. They haven't scored six or more runs in consecutive games since June 24-25.
